New Delhi: Anshul Kamboj made history in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy match between Haryana and Kerala at Lahli by taking all 10 wickets in a single innings, becoming just the third bowler in the tournament's 90-year history to achieve this remarkable feat.
Previously, Premangsu Chatterjee achieved the remarkable 10-wicket feat for Bengal against Assam in 1957, followed by Pradeep Sunderam in 1985 during Rajasthan’s match against Vidarbha.
Anshul Kamboj is recognized as one of India’s top pace-bowling prospects. He was the leading wicket-taker in the 2024 Duleep Trophy, claiming 16 wickets. In the tournament, he narrowly missed taking 10 wickets in an innings, delivering a phenomenal spell of 8/69 (India C vs. India B) in Anantapur, marking the fifth-best figures in the competition’s history.
Anshul Kamboj debuted for Haryana across all formats in 2022 and has quickly established himself as a key player. In just 19 first-class matches, he has taken 57 wickets at an impressive average of 24.14, highlighting his consistency and potential as a fast bowler.
Anshul Kamboj gained prominence during Haryana’s triumphant Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign last year, where he showcased his bowling prowess by taking 17 wickets in 10 matches.
Anshul Kamboj’s stellar Vijay Hazare Trophy performance also earned him his maiden IPL contract, with Mumbai Indians acquiring him for ₹20 lakhs. Representing the Hardik Pandya-led side, Kamboj played three matches, securing two wickets.
With the 2025 IPL mega auction approaching, Mumbai Indians may use their RTM card to retain Anshul Kamboj, given his promise as an uncapped player. The 23-year-old recently represented India-A in the 2024 Emerging Asia Cup, where he impressed with four wickets across three matches.
