New Delhi: Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad has made a bold prediction about Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli. Broad believes that Kohli's upcoming tour of England in 2025 will be his last. At 36 years old, Kohli will lead India in a five-Test series against England from June 20 to July 31 next year. Having already played in England in 2014, 2018, and 2021-22, the 2025 series could mark the end of Kohli's Test career on English soil.
Virat Kohli’s Test cricket statistics are strong, but he has not performed that well in England. His average in England is 33.21. Regarding this blockbuster series, according to Hindustan Times, Stuart Broad said, “This could be Virat’s last tour of England. He has a lot of talent and a lot of experience and the England team is a little younger and less experienced, but they have a lot of talent and they play front-foot style of cricket.” Virat Kohli has retired from T20 International cricket after the T20 World Cup 2024.
Stuart Broad said about the last series, “It is unimaginable how sad England felt when India won at Lord’s (in 2021) and drew the series. It was an aggressive Test match, Mohammed Siraj bowled brilliantly on the last day, the pitch was dry and there was just a little movement. It was an amazing, emotional Test match to watch and I know how sad it made the England dressing room. At the same time, it was a great pleasure for India to come here as well. We saw the happiness on Kohli’s face and how much it meant to him. I think it’s going to be a very exciting series.”
